ARRT Tribal Guidance Task Force: Task Force Proposal

2025 Alaska Regional Response Team and Area Committee Guidelines for Consultation and Coordination with Federally Recognized Tribes and Alaska Native Corporations.

The ARRT first produced the ARRT Guidelines for Coordination and Consultation with Federally Recognized Tribes in 2014 to help ensure consistency in our interactions with federally recognized tribes.  The ARRT Coordinators (from the U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation) updated this guidance in 2020, and again in 2025 to reflect the new Contingency Planning structure and formation of Area Committees in Alaska.
